Smallpox is the only one eliminated, but there are quite a few others that have been almost eliminated, at least in specific locations.
These include, in Australia, measles, Mumps, Rubella, chicken pox, scarlet fever, whooping cough, tuberculosis, polio, and large inroads have been made into others including hepatitis A and HPV-2. Note that vaccination is not the only weapon used against some of these, and also that some are bacteria not viruses.
But despite the fact that only smallpox has been eliminated, we have come from my childhood when infectious diseases were the major threat to life, especially for chiildren, to the present day, when for many people the concept of infectious disease and the idea of mass screening and mass vaccination for epidemics as well as infectious disease hospitals is almost totally a foreign concept.
