I cant see it being much less than chaos everywhere.

Anyway, off to have the booster around 11/1/22,so a bit more protection will be good

I suspect that with vaccination levels over 90% contact tracing becomes a bit of a pointless exercise. The risk equation has altered significantly. When we had our lockdowns in winter, Australia was in a very different situation - low vaccination levels, little circulating virus and large consequences of catching it.
Today looking at NSW or the ACT as an example:

Very high vaccination rates - means he consequences of catching it for most people is a dose of the flu for a week or so - not pleasant but better than a significant chance of a hospital stay.
A greater level of virus circulation - the chances of catching it are comparatively higher

It probably is time to accept that those who are not vaccinated by choice cannot be protected by the greater population any more. My sympathies go out to those who cannot be vaccinated.

There's not much evidence to say that it would, given the latest insights into Omicron.

Just wondering , Do the airlines check passengers have there border passes ect before allowing them on flights ? To me it would be better to stop these people at departure instead of arrival to stop every one on the flight being a close contact & going into isolation.

That’s a no…..well I haven’t travelled for work since the QLD hard border shut but I doubt things have changed.

The airlines do remind everybody to have a valid pass…….

If they haven’t been honest when they applied than I doubt they’ll be honest at departure.

It probably would be better to check before people took off but to ask the airlines to comply with constantly changing state based requirements is not feasible as aviation is a federal responsibility. The answer for the states would be to put a person in each airport to enforce their requirements but that's too expensive. Early on the Victorian government was asking how people without passes could be let on planes to Melbourne and the answer was "its not the airlines job to screen passengers to comply with state border requirements" hence the response is for each state to toss them into quarantine or put them on the next return flight.

Early days . 1,360 infections today. One death. 166 in hospital, 24 in intensive care.

NSW COVID-19 cases hit three-month high, 1,360 new infections reported (msn.com)
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

And who pays the miscreant's return fare if the bull****ter lied? Hang on, I think I have answered my own question.

    That'll teach them to bull****.
    EDIT.

Early in the piece Infra Red Thermometers were in use to vapourise ( ) passengers is that reliable enough for the job or not?
Why is it not now the practice if it was supposed to be good then, pray tell?
