You might struggle to find an OLED screen in the size you are after within your price range. We have a 65 inch Sony OLED and the clarity still amazes me after 6 plus months.

Thanks, Geoff. I'm now looking at perhaps the Sony A8H 55".

I recently purchased a Sony - because it had more apps straight out of the box compared to other brands.

My brother is right into all of this stuff, and he really really rates the Hisense. Admittedly, when he drags me out to look at all of this AV stuff, the Hisense does give a really good picture in comparison to others and they're not priced stupidly.

A lot will recommend to stay with name brands which are well known and reputable, but he doesn't feel that way with these TVs.

Also, you may find that many shops wont allow you to take home an OLED TV, but they will deliver it. The screens are very fragile and they inspect and test every one of them before dispatch because a lot of them get broken when layed flat into the back of a car - no warranty and its their proof that it went out of the shop working and the damage has nothing to do with them.

We had a bravia 55" for a number of years that's been faultless and recently got a new 75" to relegate the old telly to the family room. Got an ex-display superseded 75" Bravia 4k from HN for just over 2 grand. They're a good telly, and we purchased on the quality of the picture over the various Samsung offerings we were originally looking at. Of course the price helped, but I think they were only about the $2900 to $3000 pre-bartering mark anyway.

We recently bought a Sony Bravia to replace our last TV that got a voltage serge during a thunder storm , we find the Sony has extremely good sound & clear picture .

Still amazes me how big and how much people spend on TVs.

We have just “upgraded” to a 40 inch hand me down HD tv.

We just sit closer so it seems massive 😊.

Dont need apps as it’s all via Chromecast.

i suppose it’s like going from a D2 to a D4. Having never driven a D4 I can’t miss having one!
