After servicing the TC and fitting new water pump it was discovered the car had developed a major oil leak from the rocker coverthis was noticed 2 days after setting the tappets and refitting rocker cover. Previous test runs had shown no leaks !! It was running into the exhaust manifold and was messy.
It's friday morning and I'm panicking as I can't find any cork gasket material anywhere, 3 hours later a sca store come up with the goods and it's full steam ahead to make and fit new gasket
Saturday morning is test time and my birthday, and we ended up at Petrie Market Steam Fair for breakfastWe also got directed into the display area !! It appears the oil leak is fixed too.
Sunday morning started with a brisk drive up to Eumundi for the start of our drive, There was a stray navigator wandering around looking for a seat so he got the job in my carAfter a quick briefing we started at 30 second intervals and off we went 7th off the line. Howard the navigator was brilliant and we only missed one turn off, I'm not sure how I would have coped without him.
After a great drive through some lovely scenic routes we ended up at Gunabul Homestead,Gympie for lunch and presentations.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Could anyone wishing to avail themselves of the anonymity of this account, please do so this week, in order that I can make the transfer three days prior to the cut-off date.

I would suggest quite a few older members here would have had Prostate Cancer although younger blokes can get hit with it as well. I certainly did & as my Urologist told me a few years back "A lot of folk die with it not because of it" (I wish he had told me that before he ripped a heap of dosh out of me)
Some actually snuff it without even realising they have it.
Life after surgery, if that is the way you want to go, (not go as such, direction is probably a better word)can be a bit fraught, but day by day you make the most of it. Other methods ie. , Radiation therapy, Laser, Keyhole, other than major Surgery may be a lot simpler but of course you don't normally get the opportunity to choose & my bloke prefers surgery so he can get in there & have a good shufti around. Probably charges more for a Consult too.
One certainly needs a very tolerant spouse & really have your PSA checked on a regular basis.
But Hey Ho, there are many other worse things that can bugger up your day.
Mental Health.
This seems to have come to the fore in the last couple of years due to many things, but I suggest the C-19 Pandemic has a lot to answer for. We were all possibly a bit doolally before Covid hit due to many personal things in our lives but never quite got around to contemplating Suicide.
Case in point.
A friend of ours of many years, came home one day & found, lets call him Bob for that is his name, flaked out on the floor while in the process of packing for a holiday to Cairns. Bob had had a Stroke & was hopitalised for a few weeks & then transferred to a care home. Now Veggie status.
Wife couldn't see how she was going to cope & eventually took a handful of pills & as daughter couldn't contact her by phone, checked the premises & found her face down, dead.
So, No Holiday Bob is now a permanent fixture in the Care Facility & he is only my age.
He had held a few executive positions in his work life but I doubt it included basket weaving or whatever they do these days.
Last chance, I'm going to transfer the money on Wednesday.
