I know how it feels. No really.

When I was a 12 year old kid my Uncle & Aunt drove me from West Preston to Cobden with me crouched in the luggage space in one of those. (no seat belts back then)
In the 'burbs it was fine, but once on the open road I could have been sucked off/out if you get my drift.

They had decided that the next stage of my journey back to Adelaide was to be by car & not by Train. (The final stage in about a week's time was by train& escorted by another Unc who was an Anglican Parish Priest in Cobden.)

Just recalled, it was here that I first read Baden Powell's "Scouting for Boys" the original handbook of the Scouting movement. It was the sort of book that one could not put down when reading it.

Because of it, I joined the Scouts & was there for about 15 years.

    Edit.
Unc's was a ( what I have always called British Racing Green, I don't know if that was an MG Colour but it looked bloody beautiful.)

Between the seats & affixed to the Tranny Tunnel he had adapted what looked like something out of an Aircraft into a Car Radio. It was about 6" sqare -ish. Station selection was by a tiny "Hills Hoist" type winder knob which could be operated on the move without visually selecting a Station.

This was the same Unc who I have mentioned elsewhere that flew "Bully Beef Bombers "in PNG in WW2 usually DC3s, Low & Slow stuff up the valleys..

Errrr sorry what was the question?

Thanks to all you good people who chipped in.
I had encryption issues with Jerry's site, so transfered the money to him .
My bank details have now been edited out.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Consider it an investment Jerry, next year you can raise twice as much, with two cars.
