The postie over here has a small van or walks depending on the area being rural or urban. Never seen one on any other transport
Had a Kiwi postie for a few years. Was out walking in shorts no matter the weather - sun, rain or snow

Kiwis are like that. The first person we saw when visiting Arrowtown in the South Island on a skiing trip, early evening in the dead of mid winter at about -2C was a local dressed in shortS and a T shirt, exiting a milk bar holding a double ice cream. 😳
Yep, you must be in a rural area too. Out postal service is a joke in Aus. In England if you order something before 5pm, the postal service will deliver it by 8am the next day! WTF?
Also if I order from the UK from Paddocks etc it's twice as quick as getting a package from WA, NSW or QLD delivered? What the hell?
A letter through the post to someone in my town takes 5-9 business days. It's just a joke.
Actually no in suburban Brisbane . It is getting to the stage we keep receiving accounts after the pay by date. I like getting paper a/c's that way I can put them on a clip in order of payment & don't forget them , with electronic ones I general forget to pay.[bighmmm]
My post arrives generally before midday not 8 am. Most online next day delivery is usually order before 3 pm for next day which will be pay extra for a courier not Royal Mail
Then there is the difference between the promise and actual delivery. Ordered a drill from a major online Plc which said could deliver next day via courier. Arrived 3 working days later which if you read the fine print was within terms. Not happy as wanted to use it on the Saturday but arrived on the following Tuesday
Have had 3 messages from a courier firm saying need to rearrange for delivery of a parcel. Have ignored as they have not attempted to deliver anything so probably a scam. Now thinking it might be a parcel that a friend has now rung and asked if something they sent has arrived
Our Postie drives a Land Cruiser, delivers twice a week & she is nice. Picks up our outgoing at the same time. The fact that during the wet we get no post does not count against the Postie.
I just resurrected the Australia Post thread.....
....this thread is about posties falling off their bikes and getting bitten on the ankles.....isn't it?
