Interestingly it was a bit different to what I expected.

Acceleration down the runway was impressive but once in the air it is such a smooth aeroplane (it's a British Aerospace Hawk BTW) that you don't get a real feel for how fast you are going. Even doing aeros, the Gs come on without any real impression of speed. Loops and rolls incredibly smooth.

Flew down the coast at 500ft and 800kmh (went under a Cessna at one stage) did a couple of circuits of Rottnest and then up to one of the military training areas where I had a drive for a while and did some aeros (not me driving!).

We were restricted to 500kts and 6G because of the drop tanks and missiles on the wings!

LOL. I guess I'm going ot get that every time I show that pic! Fortunately I've never had a problem with motion sickness, it's a carton offence to chuck on the gear and you have to clean the cockpit yourself!

On the ground before engine start there's no oxygen supply but you have to have the mask on to talk to the pilot so you can't breathe unless you hold it away from your face!
