Hi,
Tourque multiplier ??
Cheers
2 things that have started happening of late which I think suck & I find insulting.
Customers have stated saying "Ask the old fella!" when referring to me.
And people, including my Boss, have stated asking "When ae you going to retire?"
Maybe they just want to get id of me.
SWMBO does say my heavy breathing is more intense, doesn't say if it's sexier?

I now find that a 6 rung ladder is equivalent to a 5 metre ladder of yore.
'Climb It' change, perhaps?

To me, once you star thinking old, you get old. I made a promise to myself some time ago, I will not live in the past, I will try to live in the moment, and I will try to have have a positive outlook for the future. I suppose two out of three isn't too bad. One thing I've noticed, Grand children are wonderful to have you feel young again, but when you have them for an extended period, you know you are not as young as you once were. The old farts motto? " The older I get, the better I was". boom boom....![]()

Staying active at a level that works for you is important. Sitting all day in front of the TV will kill you. Just find something that you like to do so it becomes part of the routine.
Push the mower yourself not paying the local kid to do it for you. Walking each day somewhere for an hour. Be it around the block or drive somewhere that is scenic for variety.
Parents are in eighties and just completed a 6 week driving lap of Queensland up the coast as far as Port Douglas then turn left and came back inland. Know people who would find that challenging who are 20 years younger. Their thing is dancing ballroom and Scottish country. Both give you a good work out and if you enjoy it is just fun
Nice starter, look up 'Turkish Get - Up' - using a light kettle bell or whatever. A 2 - 3 litre milk container (with water) works fine, as it duplicates the 'instabillity' of a bell - handle far from C of Mass.
Hurts less than a metal lump, when dropped....

Physio told me last Century that ability to get up from a supine position was the most important skill as we age.
Just a heads up for any mature age lady/ gentleman who wishes to have some guidance for suitable exercises to keep flexible. My GP , who is the DVA GP in my local medical centre, downloaded for me a set of exercises designed to be done at home , at your own pace , and intensity. I do a lot of walking, and was having trouble with the left side of my right knee. As she explained, walking will exercise the right side more than the left, so supplementary exercise is needed to balance that out. The handouts are ;
Exercises for your knee
exercises for your lower back
exercises for your shoulder
There are more. Talk to your GP's , if mine can do it, yours can.
Remember, " the older I get, the better I was".![]()
