We are having steady rain at the moment but it has just started to thunder. We live on the side of a hill with the river on one side & the lake on the other, we will be OK but the

Centenary suburb's started flooding yesterday morning & Wivenhoe again has opened the flood gates & the water is due to reach Brisbane at the high tide yet again but that's OK peoples insurance will foot the bill. Surely by now they can calculate a time frame where the water reaches Brisbane at low tide & the BOM can give the Dams more accurate information about how much the weather is going to impact the dam so they can start releasing some water earlier so it dose not impact those living below the dam. Wivenhoe was built to stop flooding but it has become a sauce of revenue & they hold the water until it is too late which causes a lot more flooding .
One of the problems with the Brisbane River is that the Bremmer River & most of the creeks enter the River heading up stream instead of down stream so when there is when the river floods the water flows into the Bremmer & the creeks causing them to back up .
Well that is my rant for today , every one take care & don't drive through flood water & stay safe.
Ipswich has one of the most complex flood systems in Australia, definitely the most complex system in a populated area. Many of the creeks can flow in either direction, depending on where the rain falls. Bundamba Creek can flow in either direction, faster than an SES floodboat can travel in still water.
As your suburb is a short distance downstream from the confluence of the the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers, your area would be impacted by any flooding in Ipswich.
    Stay safe, mate.

I owned a Mini , the front seats were held in with wing nuts . So drop out the two bolts securing the front seats & turn them 90deg & you have a full length bed , really good to sleep in or what ever. Pop the bolts back in & wing nuts back on & driving home from the drive in in a couple of minutes .

We are OK up on the hill here , In 74 the water didn't get anywhere near our place , Bit concerned about daughter at Riverhills though. If it is no worst than 74 she will be OK don't think it impacted there property in 74 but was at the the other end of there street in 2011. Other daughter in Camira lost power this morning but is back on now, They are high & water will never impact them except they may have to find other ways to get out of where they live.

    The creek broke its banks
The camping block would have been half a metre underwater

Neighbours say it’s biggest seen ?

    Now the work begins

Well designed then? I wonder if they had "what ever" in mind when on the drawing board?
