There have been many posts on this forum about world events. Lots of folk have contributed. This is how it should be. Sadly, this is no longer the case. I have been "advised" that my post re The Ukraine is too political. I merely said that a post by Drivesafe was correct. I am told that that post should be in CA. I am not a member of CA, and don't wish to be. Dave ( Incisor ) has told me that his "cheque book" is threatened by comments that I, and by extension, YOU make. I understand Dave's position, but I cannot continue with this. Dave needs Google. Google is a censor. Censorship is the first resort of a weak person. " I do not like what you say, therefore I will do anything possible to prevent you from saying it". It is the way of a coward, and a coward is what Google is.

I cannot tell you what this means to me. I have been through so many things on this place. Ian and I got Kenley to Canada. An amazing number of people joined together when I was lost, as demonstrated here: Wish me luck, please.. One of my fondest memories of this place. But it seems that that place is dead. I've had fun, I've crossed swords with many, I have met people I enjoy, and now it's over. All because of ad revenue. I would happily pay quite a lot more to keep this place the way it was, but that won't happen. Google own everything now, except me. Goodbye.

I would ask that I be allowed access to the "Wish me luck" thread I started. It was an amazing example of what a forum like this COULD be, and it is of incredible importance to me, if that matters anymore. Maybe you could facilitate a download for those we used to call friends.

Hi Tins and please do NOT leave, this is, as you posted, not Dave’s or the forums doing and Dave does need to make money to keep this great place going.

I should not have posted comments the way I did as this is a LAND ROVER forum, not a political outlet.

I have had a number of my politically opinionated posts removed, but I really don’t take it to heart.

Things are changing, and not just here but worldwide, where the WOKE are not getting away with there “control” like they have been.

Just take a deep breath, and continue to post about the good times you have here.

Again, please do not leave the forum, we will all be losers if you do, and the WOKE folks will have one more win.

What is important is that you don’t leave something that is so important to you!

Ive read some of your comments in the past which I don’t agree with, but having diversity of opinions makes this place what it is.

We are here because we have the courage to believe in who we are.

John, you are doing Hodgo a massive disservice, he put in a gallant effort and much time. He showed me how to run an online raffle and was co-name on the joint account we set up, specifically for the raffle.

As for not being able to discuss the Ukrainian issue on AULRO, you can, in the appropriate area. Just as you can wander around a nudist camp, naked; whilst Spencer Street is not the appropriate area.

JT, I know a few people who think along the lines that you mentioned in your post. I too, have no wish to be a member of the CA section, as I think "Robust Political Discussion" on a forum such as AULRO, is a complete and utter waste of time. In my opinion, it's a bit like phoning a talk back jock on the wireless and spouting forth with your opinion, then hanging up and thinking "There, that told them!". Quite meaningless.
For example, just look at some of the crap that was posted on the original Covid thread, in the early days.

Even the current thread, although a lot more informative, still has cause for a chuckle or two.

If all the people on this forum who agree with you left the site, there would be no equilibrium and the place would be poorer for it. Think of the positives, not the negatives.

All just my opinion, of course.
