Yes you are there for the fuel, but sometimes you are really craving for hot chips with plenty of salt and vinegar. Goodbye
We obviously don't frequent the same truckstops.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

You got me - it was fake news. Goodbye

A truck stop with healthy food options…..should be in the conspiracy thread!

It isn't Dave, and in reality it isn't AULRO. It's just "modern" society, and it truly sucks, and if we don't call it out we are done. I think it's too late. Just look at how the Leader of the Free World is coping. Is he?

I simply cannot remain in a place that has morals aligned with Google. I totally understand where Dave is, and nothing saddens me more, but it is done.
John there are people who are IN and OF the world as it is, and other people who are IN the world but not OF the world.

In other words, we need to show resilience and recognise the BS Woke brigade for what they are ... we instinctively understand which way is "UP" and act accordingly in our day to day lives. You have shown marvellous resilience and set an example whether you realise this or not...

    Don't cancel yourself!

You have reminded me of something: a show called Fifth Gear, and another called Top Gear. One paid attention to the various attributes of various cars, and the other would get drawn and dragged down rabbit holes about pretty much anything. Which one did YOU watch? More importantly, which one did nearly anyone watch?

I know that Dave is between a rock .... but only a couple of years ago I could say what I felt, in appropriate language, when I wanted to. I don't blame this forum, I blame the idiotic people who watch, or have their bloody algorithms watch, everything I say or post. This crap decides who becomes POTUS ffs.

I have a few LRs. I want to talk to people about them from time to time. Is that now the only purpose of this place?

The world has changed John, not you, or maybe you have too?

I think many stick around because there are heaps of different topics, not all just about LR’s.
Although most either own one or a few,or have had them,or have a soft spot for them for whatever the reason.

If the topic was strictly only LRs,the forum would be a lot smaller, and probably get pretty boring.

In my opinion it’s good to learn about other things, and gain general knowledge from others on here.

Have a look at LCool,it’s virtually all about the one thing, and it’s pretty boring.

    WELL SAID that man.

Some here complain when a subject goes Off Topic (not you Paul) but as I have pointed out from time to time going off topic can raise a whole new swag of information & interest which leads the reader down another path. Then another, then maybe another. That is a good thing imho & can broaden the reader's knowledge base, also a good thing. For me, I often pick up on things that I was totally unaware of ie. Toll Charges.
In my opinion off topics are a good thing unless someone gets on their hobby Horse but generally here it it a good thing.

Oh, did I mention it was a good thing?

It's General Chat, like being around the campfire, with the kids around. It'd be a pretty boring and regimented campfire , if the subject wasn't allowed to change.
I get the point, not wanting to go off topic, in a technical thread.

I see the forum as Land Rover based but then what does that actually mean. To me the Land Rover is a tool to achieve something not a destination in itself. Hence the way the forum works and the broad range of topics covered

It's a slow day on AULRO if I don't learn something new from the place.
Of course, whether the new information is beneficial to me or not, varies greatly!
