    F1 2022

tuned in last night to practise 1 , expecting sight , sound , spectacle.

was rather boring except for bits falling off cars.

commentators couldn't stop harping back to Verstappens win last year. its too late , its all over.

was going to do P2 but nothing to see really.

    hope it improves drastically

The first practice sessions of the season were always going to be lack lustre, no one wants to show their hand, no one wants to crash a car, I don't think anything will be known until quali, more learned during the race.

Then at different style tracks, it'll all have to be proved again.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out..

Certainly looks like Mercedes were struggling, car very violent at high speed, that said, they obviously have extremely good engineers so it would be unlikely for that too continue, whether they are deliberately running unusual setups and sand bagging or not remains to be seen.

TBH I'm hoping one of the lesser teams comes out and does a Brawn GP style destruction of the opposition! Wouldn't that be great...

P.s. I hate the wheels, but they will probably grow on me.

    Cheers
    James

I watched P2. Not much to see there either.

I thought the move to hybrids "wasn't great", but after Bernie sold out and it became a virtue signalling marketing machine it's lost a lot more of it's appeal.

It'll be a great season. I think things will be pretty mixed up through the field, it will be a develoment race by the teams.

I'm sure everyone is keen to see how it ends up when the sand bags get thrown out.
    Cheers

    F3? now that's motor racing.

these young teenagers , just out of go karts , are worth watching.

we've had few Australian go through the acadamies last couple of years but havent seen or heard anything of them. I can't seem to match the time scheduling.

That's why I pay a HPFP per year for Foxtel. It records it for me and I watch it when I get time. It's a stupid luxury I really can't afford, but for the F1/2/3 & MotoGP it's really the only reliable game in town. My brother has Kayo but he's constantly at the mercy of the NBN.

43 laps in it looks like the new cars can allow closer racing. It has also shaken up the order and I find myself cheering for KMag.
