Not really a good comparison as the Dacia doesn't have low range. Admittedly you can go to a lot of places without low box, but can also really get stuck without it. This weekend I went to a local yokel play area I know which has become rougher and rougher, in some places there are four or five "chicken" tracks around the main track. While crossing over from one track to another I got stuck between two and had to put my D3 in low range to get out as in high range the auto box was just slipping. Also very handy was the black protective wheel arches and mudflaps as weaving my way between trees I touched the R H rear mudflap on a tree, and a lot of the trees had scars on them and weeping sap from the same sort of contact with other vehicles!

I looked at the start if the video to see what a Dacia was. It didn’t help.

Who makes them? Are they a re-badged something or other?

    Off to Google…

I thought it was referring to one of those mitsubishi 4x4 vans from years ago assuming it was a joke, but that Dacia doesn't appear to be a joke.

wonder who is going to import them into Australia.....

Dacia has been around for years. A "cheap" vehicle produced by the Renault group. Have never been imported into Australia because nobody in their right mind would be bothered.
    Cheers .........

You're thinking of the Mits. Delica, which you see getting around Oz as a grey import.

The turbo diesels are the pick, apparently.......... with the scoop on the front under the windscreen.

Dacia are a Romanian Renault brand. Sold in Europe as the cheapest car in the brand mix. Not sold on big numbers but there is a market for them
