Yep - there's a couple of them getting around Kalgoorlie already. I saw one yesterday, and agree with you on the look of the front end. Let's hope the VW version looks a bit better than that.

Ok, so work may have softened a bit hopefully and I may be able to get a vehicle other than a commercially registered one now - still to be determined 100% but let’s assume for now that’s the case.
Back to my original points any suggestions given it can be anything.
Up to $80K
COMFY
Diesel
Can tow 2 tonne with ease (1700kg caravan)
Not a VW
A mate just went for a new Ranger Sport, essentially a Wildtrack without the contrast stitching and the sliding tonneau and sports bar on the tub. Came in under $80K and he's looking at an April delivery.

I’m not convinced that Ford have sorted the 10 speed yet so a bit gun shy on the Ranger or Everest to be honest.
I will be checking out the Mux though. [emoji106]
Guy at work bought one - from what I have seen, it would be on my radar.
If I were looking, Mitsubishi would be high on my list, if only for the ten year warranty.
Yep in all honesty the leader of reliability in the dual cab market at the moment and since about 2015 with the MQ, is the Triton. If you are not towing 3000kg day in and day out nor wanting a long alloy canopy with a lot of weight a long way back (owing to axle placement) they are a gem. The top of their line will still put about 20k from your budget back in your pocket. Test drive a top spec model. The manuals have a known issue popping out of third gear. Asin 6 speed auto is very well tuned to the motor and bullet proof. Apart from one intercooler hose (cold side) prone to fail (for which there are an abundance of extremely durable aftermarket replacements with a 10 min fitment time) they are excellent in my view.
Cheers
I’ve been following your thread closely on the Triton - my Neighbour also has one and loves it and has towed a 2 tonne van around Australia in the last year. If I can get out of the commercial rego bit I really don’t want to end up in another dual cab though - I’ve been driving them for 10 years and I’m a bit over them is all. I’d like a wagon of some description with coils all around - I know - I’m getting soft - I’ll admit that but as I get older I really want to move away from them if I can help it but if I’m forced back into another one I’ll defiantly check one out. Fair enough too mate. The Pajero Sport and MUX would both be worth a drive. Some recent Isuzu had turbo issues and firewall/subframe crack issues I have read but not sure if sorted in very latest version. Cheers
Ps. Not sure if Iszui Dmax and MUX have upgraded to heated driver's seats...last time I looked the new Dmax didn't. For me, especially getting back to the boatramp from a night out in an open side console tinnie the heated seat is not negotiable. [emoji1787][emoji106]
