This was agreed years ago the media is only just catching up as it is now happening. At the moment you can override it

The bigger picture is the the Gallello satellite system is the final part of. The satellite system has been built with the technology to track every vehicle in the EU. Will be able to monitor location and speed. There are still some technical issues with the tracking before it becomes active

Legislation is already in place for the EU to then tax all movement and issue fines. No doubt when it is working will be looking for other countries to make use of the system - for a percentage of the take no doubt

Most of the BMW owners around here, are too miserable to pay for the blinkers option.

Oddly perhaps I love walking, running riding past Red Light/speed cameras going FLASH

Some RULZ are PITA yet we have rulz and following them OR getting them changed to something sensible is better than breaking rulz perhaps?

It may be some gent broke a "Give Way" rule and very nearly killed me of course.

Also love listening to Police people tell me about the wiggles people try to get out of accountability for ......

I might be nasty or see it my way of course. PS I admit doing 240Kph + on a bike once or twice. I am 'Not' going to detail if that was on a specific road, race track or place with or with out speed restrictions. Call me billy not silly

This was bound to happen with advances in technology and advances in the grubberment wanting to control every aspect of our lives.

As a result I see many sticking to older cars and their values increasing for some models, particularly the sportier kind.

Then the grubberment will just make it financially untenable to keep older models by increasing registration or putting tariffs/excises on insurance for said vehicles.

Easy to take older cars off the road and to make it a safety issue. All those air bags in a modern car have a designed life of 10 years. Just pass a law to say that they all have to be replaced every ten years. Then as this is a safety issue and to protect the public these would have to be manufacturers product rather than those nasty non manufacturer products as you never know how good they are. Ignoring that the car manufacturer buy them in themselves. Cost would make this unaffordable and so a new car is purchased. Am surprised the EU has not thought of this one as they have a stated aim of removing all cats over 8 years old from the road

You got a smartphone - already done so not sure what you’re worried about - despite what everyone thinks the government really isn’t interested in 99.9% of us and they don’t have the capacity to monitor everyone anyway - and what for? Do you have such a fascinating life that it bears scrutiny on that scale? I sure don’t.

I’d be more worried about Google and Apple to be honest than any government surveillance.

The biggest thing the grubberment is interested in is MONEY. They want to know how much you earn and how much you spend, because if you spend significantly more than you earn then they are not getting their cut and will want to know why and probably prosecute.

They want to know how much you have in savings and where, they want to know who gives you money and who you give money to, again so they can get their cut. They want to know how much you have under your mattress. Hence why there has been a...... well not a push, but gentle nudges towards a cashless economy.

On the under the mattress economy, I read somewhere recently that of all the $100 and $50 notes that have been minted and those official destroyed, there are significantly less in circulation than there should be. So who has a lumpy mattress???
