    Jeep Winch

    Wasn't sure weather to put this in Recovery or Humour so I'll put it here.
    A mate is touring USA , saw this at Yellowstone NP.

    My first thought was a pull cord so it made a roaring noise when the string was released.

    I thought it was the pull cord for the kill switch , they just forgot to put the sticker next to it.stickers-battery-master-switch.png

    Maybe the Jeep owner thinks it will only get mildly stuck and only need a few pounds of force to free it? The bow shackles however are for other vehicles to winch off when they get stuck.

    A 3/16" wire rope has a breaking strength of about 4000 lbs.
    A Land Rover capstan winch is limited to about 2500 lbs. Any comments ?
