Reminds me of the report that stated someone had been 'confronted by a group of ten armed men'. One ten-armed man would be scary enough, but a group of them?

I always want to hit the reporter who says 'A man has been killed after his car crashed into a pole...' Either he was killed WHEN his car crashed into a pole, or he survived only to succumb to some other misfortune at a later time.

Do you think they may be a bunch of Octupus that was/were caught in a nuclear blast, say at Monte Bello during UK Atomic Trials ?
