And possibly dangerous depending on the vessel imho.

I 'woke' up this morning, so that's a good thing.
There is no such word as 'terrains', as appears regularly in motoring mags.
The word 'terrain' is uncountable, so it covers both singular and plural.
I laughed about the 'take a seat' post above, as I saw a friend do the same thing recently.

Pollies and media using "The Current Terms of The Time".

Remember a few years ago, the use of "Road Map", for just about any government plan. Then there's "Reiterate", "Let me just say", "Whistleblower" etc., ad nauseum.

Perhaps I should be on 'Grumpy Old Men', instead?

    I HATE Americanisms!
Guy, Gal, Whoo, most cooperate speak & most idioms from TV or Movies.
I, as much as possible, say Blokes, Folks etc. Instead of going forward try Next Year or Month or whatever.
One I hate is "What learnings did we get from this?" What is wrong with "What did we learn from this?" or "Lesson Learnt!"
After reading 1984 I thought the English language was supposed to get less complicated, not likely!

Quick, blood is much easier to get off while it's still wet.

The one Americanism that drives me mental is "top off", as in "I'm just going to top off the coolant". I don't know why, but it's like fingernails down the blackboard.

I suppose that would depend whether you hit him/her with the shovel's flat side or edge & how long you left them in the Trunk. Flat is better as it only stuns them.
