Surely there'll still be queues of punters out the front of Holden dealers first thing tomorrow?

Moved to Bathurst a few months ago, it is pretty special to wake up and hear race cars. I also love that the local car club hold events regularly and I can trailer the race car 10min to an event.
I don't enjoy the crowd from race week though. This morning it took me over an hour to go across town for work, as everyone was leaving to go home at the same time.

Mate sent me this today, seems first Ford V8 was in 14th place, down 23 laps
Eight Toranas in the top 10,then a Celica.

It was definitely great racing back in that era.

They couldn’t beat them despite handicaping them multiple times.

So they banned them - instead of building a better car.

Pathetic really - which sums up the “supercars” formula.

    Ditto Sierra.

There is a vid somewhere on Superslueth,i think, about the huge amount of work that Gibson Motorsport did to the Nissans to get them competitive, then to a winning formula.
Then a year or two later to have them banned was a huge kick in the guts.
They then went to Holdens and won in them.

The Kelly’s were racing a Nissan in V8 Supercars along with Erebus and the Mercedes.
