Hi All,
Has anyone driven from Uluru, due west through the Gibson across to Geraldton in WA?
If so - what route did you take? Fuel stops? Things worth seeing?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If the trip goes ahead I will be in a Perentie FFR..
Cheers,

In '05, I sort of did the reverse i.e. Meekathara to the East Coast via the Gunbarrel. I was in a 300tdi D1 with only real mods being snorkel, Bilstein shocks and King springs.
I kipped overnight Mt Beadell, Carnegie Station and somewhere outside Wiluna. Can't remember, sorry.
If going the other way, using the Gunbarrel will allow you to head from the Rock to Meekthara, South to Mt. Magnet and then due West pretty well, to Geraldton.
There's a bit of Len Beadell and the GRCP's history along this route, too.
The road was a typical, poorly maintained, outback road, with varying states of condition. It wasn't too bad from Wiluna to Carnegie, for obvious reasons. I don't like giving 'Status' to outback roads, as I've learnt that what I may think is a reasonable road is a horror road to someone else.
I allowed three days for Wiluna - Warburton, but took four, with a bit of sightseeing involved.
Diesel available at Carnegie in 2005.
