    Received quote for damage garage

HI I have received a forward quote form a company to Shannons for the replacement of garage. Gee I didn't know how much they cost. With them taking out the old and storing that stuff and a bit of concrete work and some down pipes and the clean up of site after the job done is $59,805 . size of shed 5.5m x6.0m x 2.8 high. And since it so much it has to be reviewed higher up. And that doesn't includes all Mario power tools which he has a lot of. Today I was in there stacking all the damage stuff, and moving things around, I found one of Mario's favourite fishing rod that he would take when he when for snapper. But I suppose that isn't to bad after he has about 20 fishing rods.
I am doing a little bit better, after see the dr, now I am on very low dose of antidepressants. But I have to keep going, I have to keep going for Mario. Thanks guys Heather.

Surely Shannons will involve Loss Assessors &/or another party to quote for all that Heather, so that figure may tumble down but they are responsible for the loss so what they are prepared to pay is up to them at the end of the day. Loss Assessors are not normally stupid & easily taken in by first quotations. Good luck with all that

The thing you need to watch is if you have an Excess or not & if not you may be required to dig deep in your pockets as well. Just going through a bit of this myself at the mo.

Guess which Wally busted two windows when his Ride on hit some coarse gravel. One on the house & the other on the side window of the Mazda. Go on, hazard a guess.

Yes they are dealing with a company that does loss assessors and quote for replacements. That quote came from that company as they have been out to see the damage. Shannons haven't been out to see the damage, there has been so many photos taken and the photos I took to show how strong this water was and the height of it. My claim manager I have helping me as been wonderful. She has always return my call if she is away from her desk and she know the situation I am in, including losing Mario. Also there was an excess of $1000 on the policy that is the way Mario had set it up. Which I have already paid the other day.

My BiL had to make a claim on one of his rental properties, after the Lismore floods. The property was in Brisbane, but the fringe of the event that flooded Lismore, damaged the roof of his property, resulting in water damage internally.
The cost of the repairs was over the odds and he had to pay a 50% deposit before the builder would start, full payment on completion.
The repairs were effected before the assessor viewed the property. This was because the house was tenanted (by his daughter, SiL and grandchildren).
The assessor looked at the photos of the damage and repairs, signing off on the reimbursement without quibble. He was from Texas, USA and flew around the world from one disaster area to another. He claimed that in these type of situation, it's more about assessing the claimant.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
