My father has a early 90s Fairlane with a digital speedo. It sucks, you have to actually "read" the thing then do some mental processing whereas a normal one you just glance at it and know what speed you are doing.

Sounds silly but analogue gauges are much easier to read (and look better).

Get rid of all the dials and have a H.U.D.

    Now that would impress me

just got september LRE and a quick scan though shows that the new defender engine is definatly 2.4 twin overhead cam four valve per cylinder diesal out of the transit, it keeps the r380 and does not get the six speed out of the transit and the big bad news for you vent lovers they have gone and the air con is moved to centre of dash, guess that gives some knee space back

So no more classic Defender moments then

See the Americans are turning the Defender into a pansy machine bit by bit by bit.

Well that has saved me the pain of wanting a new Defender I could not afford. No vents, no Jamie.

That is the end of my interest as well.....

I was hanging for the ZF 6-speed.

I would prefer old vents over the new dash anyday.

    'Kimba' is very happy!!!
