You can't trust anything anymore. Nevermind, it's only about two and a half metres to the ground, via the shelf. I think I'll live.

    Me? Or the roof?

Actually it was probably poor construction in the first place. Couple that with my "slight" case of being overweight.

You are lucky to be alive, most deaths in people's homes are due to falls!

Yes indeed. Second fall in five weeks. The gutters around the back are 8 metres high, so I think I'll leave them...

    Is that a pun?

Seriously, JT, the older you get, the higher the ladder. I call it "Climb It" change.
8 metres in height! Forget it! I hope you're OK.

I'm bloody sore as it happens. When I think of what I could have landed on... I'm considering if I need a stitch or two in my noggin, but I don't think I'll be driving anywhere for a bit.

And no. I bought a ladder 22 years ago when we bought the place. I've been up there once. I'm 69 now. No bloody way I'm going up there again. I'll just have to train the possums.

Climb It change... I love it..

Take care John. Did you see a Doc mate? Our bones do brake- hope the fall didn't do that of course. If its painfull a xray might be suggested by your Doctor. That was a big fall mate.

Thanks James. Nothing busted except the roof. Cuts and bruises, tweaked my already crook lower back.

Had a strange effect on my hearing though, Audiologist could find nothing physically wrong so it's off to the GP to get poked and prodded.

Pales into insignificance compared to what happened to you. I was tempted to have a drink afterwards, though. I've had more injuries and falls in the three months ( today ) sober than I did in the preceding five years drunk. Just kidding, it's going to take more than a fall or two.
