If I asked that question at your house, Colin, I'm certain the answers I got would differ...

Masada jacks are pretty good. They make a suitable two stage jack.

I just use a generic 4t 2 stage bottle jack............ $30? with the screw out thing in the top stage.

With a quick file around the cap on top, a front RRC calliper piston slips over neatly. You can weld any number of brackets to these 'piston adaptors' to jack up diffs, chassis rails, blah, blah.

Very compact and powerful. Here's a pic of it in use with a (1 minute) custom adaptor getting a seized rim off the hub of my ute. Note......... horizontal is not the way these things should be stored, the only reason this worked is because the pump part is lowermost.

    cheers, DL

Which is, of course, why LR chose to do just that behind the battery in the D2.

It's perfectly normal to collect Jacks, in fact a lack of Jacks denotes a weak character.. (I hope).

But it was the last of the “proper” jacks supplied by LR in any of their vehicles.
Apart from the jack in the Puma.

Even the New Defender has a useless piece of rubbish jack.

Probably because a flat on one of those is cause to summon a flat bed.
