Disco Sport - written off by windscreen chip

Yes its True after many Landrovers including my very favourite D3 S bought new - our landrover journey has come to an end. Our present beautiful and immaculate 2017 Disco Sport 180 bought form new went to the smash repairs for a new moon roof as the original was cracked. While it was there the repairers asked if they would like them to replace the windscreen as it had a chip and was covered by the insurance
Well it was a long process - Bunbury Landrover recallibrated the windsreen and it did not work so replaced the wind screen again.
Then the camera module, then another camera module, then updated the software via a specialist in the UK, then replaced the dash board module - then replaced it with another dashboard module.
Next step remove the roof lining and hunt for faults - they stopped
After 10 monthst over 60 hours labour and over $25,000 in parts the Insurance company decided to write our vehicle off and put $45000 in our bank account as well as refunding our insurance policy (Allianz)
Our car only had 60000 kms and was perfect in every way.
Really loved all our Landrovers but I cannot go through that again - Bunbury Landrover were terrible - never called , ignored our enquirees and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them and costing them money for taking it there.......
Just got a new Ford Everset Sport.......it actually drives and tows a lot like our old D3 and is hopefully going to be a lot more reliable..

Sorry to hear. That is truly mad. Whilst Ford has its issues with reliability chances are you will get a better run out of it than you had with the Disco.

    Cheers

Most car vendors are similar in their lack of interest. SWMBO has a 2 year old Wrangler Rubicon. It has a water to air intercooler that lost all its coolant. It's going to be at the dealer for 8 - 10 weeks while they source parts, that's in addition to the three weeks it was sitting here before SWMBO could get it in to be "diagnosed". I'm betting I could fix it in an hour with some amateur enthusiasm but it's under warranty so we have to play the game. I also have a work colleague that had a turbo lunch itself on a 5 Cylinder Ranger, six weeks waiting to find out the dealer had ordered to wrong turbo, one from the 4cyl motor. It was fixed eventually but was off the road for 3 months.
