I always, even as an owner driver, preferred night shift driving as I reckoned dealing with **** pots, punch up artists, prostitutes and poofters was easier than wimmin with kids and shopping trolleys and taking people to medical centres or hospitals was a real pain.
Plus I used to flick the dipper on the mirror for a sly perve. :O

Buggered if I'd do it now though, even if it still existed. Ice scares me.

Interestingly for ACT residents NSW has had phone detection cameras on the NSW border since their introduction. No doubt a very good fundraiser catching ACT drivers.....

Personally me thinks that any form of camera system should be illegal. IF the coppers want to educate people about safety, which everyone claims they are for, you should have a classic dude (or dudette) in a car, pulling you over, giving you a fine or a warning if they see fit then and there on the spot. Put the effort in, engage with the people and that's the end of it. Not some lazy cash grab 1984 crap everywhere.

We have this small little niggle down here that making pictures from the front is illegal which does help. The story goes that when speeding camera's came into fashion a high ranking government official was caught with his mistress in the seat and since then privacy has prevailed over tickets haha. Funny that, wrong reason, right decision.

Then again, a few years ago pre-covid the police rented complete touring cars and drove them through the busiest traffic with people on both sides of the bus just checking cars and their drivers to write them down. No privacy infringement, still enough tickets to pay for the touring car and then some...

    Cheers,
    -P
