    What have I done?

For the first time in my 31 years of motoring life, I'm Volvoless. I now have to rely on the D3 as my only vehicle.

The Volvo was my land rover rescue vehicle and did sterling duty, but as the D3 became increasingly reliable (shhhh!) I could no longer justify the yearly rego and insurance on the brick.

What's the bet the Antichrist leaves me stranded on the side of the road next week?
MY08 D3 - The Antichrist - "Permagrimace". Turn the key and play the "will it get me home again" lottery.

I had a 244 in the early '80s. One of the best vehicles I have owned.

Just as a matter of interest, a Qld forum member with the initials 'JD' didn't buy it, ay?

Seems all the best people had Volvos at some stage.

All the best people bar one…., and I want a 2xx for a Barra conversion. Things are built like a tank.

Brad, maybe you should pray to the XC70 gods.

A Clevo fits in them and the brakes are good enough to handle the extra power.
Surprisingly, there's 45mm more between the strut towers, than an XA/B/C Falcon.

Volvo 740's? and RRC's were the safest cars to be in if involved in a serious accident according to the RACV back in the day. Before the airbag era.

A well known motoring critic once said of the 740 “It’ll look good once they get it out of the box”.

Back in the day the MD purchased a new 244 Volvo. First day had it back to the garage complaining that there was a buzzer and warning light that would not stop. Was pointed out to him that it was not the cars fault rather operator error. All could be solved very quickly if he put the seat belt on

I remember the 244 here in Oz was regarded with some mirth re the running lights. Many folk wanted them turned off. My how things change....
