    Is a different generation thing

Great uncle died and clearing out house found thousands in cash hidden all over the house.

His will was interesting as the first paragraph read no one who has taken German nationality, married a German or shown favour to Germany shall inherit from this will. He as WW1 veteran and this was late nineties. He knew this would not apply to anyone who would inherit just stating his opinion which had never changed over all those years

Another had cupboards full of rolls of toilet paper. Yes this was pre pandemic

About 12yrs ago,we were cleaning out the Wifes parents place, after the MIL decided to leave us,and the FIL(a great bloke) did as well a few months later.

Anyway,SWMBO picks up this plastic stool to put it in the van,to take it down to the charity place, with a lot of other stuff, and the lid comes off.
Inside there was thousands of $$ in notes,we presume it was her pokie money, she was down there often.

    And and and?

Speaking of Pokies. My SiL who I have previously described her pokie winnings on here is also a great Pokie winner( or just arsey,) so this Friday, it not being just her birthday, is going out to lunch at a Pub wiv ' er indoors. She has recently had breast surgery & lost both breasts & next week is having an eye removed which I believe was also Cancer connected. After lunch? She is playing the pokies is what. **** me, I'd be making an upto date Will.

    I hope she does well.

May as well spend it,as she can't take it with her, well for that matter, none of us can.

I know one thing,if we don't spend what little we have, the kids sure will.

When we cleared out my late "uncle's" place we had 12 of the biggest skips available. We would have needed more, as we were of necessity being utterly ruthless with our culling, but the gannets were skip diving constantly. This was in South Yarra, which many of you will know is quite an affluent suburb. The old bloke had things like a box labelled "pieces of string too short to be of any use". I kid you not. He stuck sheets of used cling wrap to the walls rather than throw them out...... I believe "eccentric" is the term used for people like him. They only say "mad" if you're poor. He left his 1924 20HP Rolls Royce to my mum. She declined it

Back to the boat. I am finding having a fractured vertebrae and heavily bruised ribs to be quite limiting, so it's on hold for a while. So is driving the bloody OKA, so I guess Qld is stuck with me. Sigh.
