802.11n (Sometimes called MIMO, which is actually just one of the new things the spec adds) is faster.
However, remember these are maximum figures, and shared bandwidth...you won't get close to them if you have stuff competing on the same frequencies (i.e. video senders, some cordless phones, other people's wireless routers if you live in a densely populated area, etc.) and you haven't set your channel spacing properly.
You also drop speed the further the client is from the access point, and in this respect 802.11n with it's MIMO stuff is worth it's weight in gold...
