IIRC a 161 in this old banger. He used it as his workhorse on the property, at the time doing some fence maintenance when I happened along and had to catch up with him. Taken way back in 2009.
You can just make out the typical holden air cleaner.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Good to see ........ not so sure about the bull bar though. But it probably balances up all the gear you need to carry in the tub.

Slightly off thread but further to the Holden motor subject. I fitted a 186 red engine to my 1969 Series 2a 109" Wagon and thoroughly regretted it. Clutch wise, I retained the LR assembly and so that part of the conversion worked well, but as the water pump/fan is much lower in the Holden engine it is not centre of radiator.

Thus in serious 4Wdriving (which I did via LROC Tas) it overheats and an auxiliary electric fan "tries" to assist the cooling. As well, the red engine's max revs is 500 lower then the 4 cyl LR engine.

In hindsight, I'd have kept the 4cyl and fitted extractors, cleaned up the cyl head/porting and left it at that as the 4cyl is not a bad engine at all.

Now, the 2.6 is a different matter.... just a lazy docile slug of a thing which works best as a boat mooring. Had one in my Series 3 wagon. Always said I'd fit a 3.0 litre from a P5 car but never got around to it as I got my first Service Station and the Taxman "helped" me buy a near new RR.
    Before: Ser 2a LWB, Ser 3 S/W, 1979 RR 2 door, 1981 LR Stage 1 V8 (new), 1985 LR 110 V8 County (new), 2009 RRS TDV8
    Now: MY13 D4 TDV6. "E" rear diff. Cambo's magic Engine & Auto Tune. 1968 Austin 1800 Mk1 auto (my 5th)
