A mystery fit for Sherlock himself.

We got a letter from the electricity supply company recently. It stated that as our meter had not been read for a year and all of our bills for the year had been estimated they were obliged to notify us of this fact. I contacted them to ask why the meter had not been physically read during the year. I was told there was a note against the account stating that the gate to the premises was locked. "We don't have a gate. Been here since 1986 and we never had a gate" I told them on the phone. Anyway it was finally read.

I'm the named person on our radio club's electricity account. I got a similar letter (for only one quarter). I rang them and said, yes, it is locked with multiple locks, one of which is an electricity supplier lock. I don't think the meter reader even looked.

This week I got a letter from Sth water saying that the new meter that they fitted about a month ago wasn't reading right something to do with the sensor not sending the right information and they where working with the company to get the readings right and would be fixed with in the next 2 weeks. And that they said it was about $5.00 worth so the next bill will show a credit. I suppose it is better in my pocket then them, it wont buy me a coffee for my birthday today lol. Heather

    Heather. Happy birthday for yesterday.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
