It usually gets pretty cold there overnight in winter - but usually warms up during the day. Although much the same happens anywhere inland and open.

But yes, this cold all day bit is definitely unusual.

    Queensland.

I was in Brisbane around 6 weeks ago for a weekend (sorry, didn’t have time to catch up with anyone) and it was beautiful. We even considered what it would be like to move up there. Took about 3 seconds to work out living in a Sauna the rest of the year isn’t for us.

What did surprise me was that Queensland makes better coffee than NSW overall. Had one of the best coffees ever up in Tamborine. Still not quite as good as Melbourne coffee but well on its way. Sydney - you’re on notice, Nescafé is not coffee…

Ideally I’d like to get a job that allows me to be in Brisbane June/July, Darwin in August, back to Brissy in September then Melbourne November to May as our Weather from Spring to Autumn is really quite good. I like that it can be hot but they’ll always be a cool change after a few days.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Don't apply for a position with the Qld Publc Service (or whatever it's called today). When I worked there, the small crew I was with, would be sent up North in summer and out to places like Stanthorpe, in winter. It was ok for the shiney-arse in his Brissy office, making the decisions.

p.s. 16° at the moment. I've just lit the indoor fireplace. I had to use paper and matches, as the wife is out. I normally just get her to breathe on the kindling to ignite it.

You're braver than me Steve but then the wife is sitting here, so I'm going to light ours with a firelighter

My dear mum and step-dad weren't enjoying it. Mum was telling me how many layers she had on, and they only have split system AC's in the lounge room and main bedroom.

So, I arrived in beautiful Queensland this evening. It hasn’t stopped raining since I got here. Glad I came.
