Anybody know of a source of repair manuals for Mercury outboards?

The one I have to deal with is a little different to that. Do they come in different sizes then?

An uncle who had spent some time in the navy during the early forties once corrected me when I was describing a ship. Seems in his opinion it had to be over 10k tons to be a ship anything smaller was a boat

Indeed, there is a lot of conjecture on the subject.

One description is that: "In a turn, if a vessel heels inwards , it is a boat and if it heels outwards, it is a ship".

Then you need to define what a "sharp turn" is!

Anyway, I think this one 20230708_Boat_or_Ship.jpeg is a ship as it looks like it is over 10K tons
