Yes it's the same motor as the Volvo, but Ford tweaked it a bit more [wink11] My son has the hot hatch Volvo version and it's a quick car [bigwhistle]

It went faster in any gear than a privately owned version, could also take speed humps without slowing, didn't need cleaning (until the boss saw it !).

People seem to like the volvo in this thread and they are proper cars but mind you, the V70 is full of FORD stuff. In my experience the last real volvo was the 850 before ford started to influence things. These days its chinese (and they have become quite ugly). Of the list you mentioned the only real bullet proof car would be the, go figure, toyota.
