I only have a linkedin account so that there is something on the www if someone searches my name or company. I'm self employed and don't have a website etc. The free version is sufficient for this.
Not that I want any more work. Existing contacts keep me more than busy enough..... :-/

We've been struggling to get someone in a Sales position (Engineering knowledge required), one guy lasted 7 months the next one 3 weeks of which 2 weeks were training !
The 7 months guy was doing Management Training so I guess he was only ever going to be with us short-term.

Well, apparently I am a Premium member for the next 12 months. I forgot to mark on a calendar a date at least 3 days before the 'Free Trial' ended. Yes - you can cancel 24 hours before the automatic subscription is due. However things can go wrong with this... 'accidentally' of course. You know different time zones, a technology system 'suddenly' gets overloaded and the cancellation is delayed. The 'accidental delay' means the cancellation is not processed before the 'automatic' deduction comes out. No, these 'accidents' did not happen with this company. They have occurred previously with other companies that I have had encounters with though. So, yes this current state is entirely my fault. No one to blame but me. Mea culpa
If this mob was one of those considerate companies that send out a reminder that an automatic payment will come out of your nominated account if you fail to act - then, from what I have learnt from this forum and other online searches - I would have cancelled the 'Premium' option. Instead, I just got a delightful message that my full year subscription has been paid! No, apparently failing to cancel before the 'Free Trial' ended is not a valid reason to request a refund. I have since gone to my nominated account linked card and made sure no further 'automatic' deduction occurs this time next year.
Looks like when the Linkedin for Dummies book arrives I had better make the most of my membership for the next 12 months. With my only working 2 days a week the subscription was a hole out of this pay period that I really did not need. Yes ... no one to blame but me. Now what was the title of that book? Oh yes what a bitter pill to swallow. The title says it all Linkedin for DUMMIES! Ouch - doesn't the truth hurt!
Yes - I have also checked all automatic deductions that are linked to my bank account. These have been subsequently vetted.
On the flip side - now I just have to promote myself so much via this automatic deduction-based platform that in the future such things as automatic deductions are mere items of trivia that have no consequence to my bank balance when they occur because the account will be so flush with money. This because apparently swearing out loud ... berating ones self for your own negligence until the air turns blue around you does not achieve anything positive ...
Attitude adjustment made and set to "positive".
Bugger!
Oh, apparently the attitude just slipped temporarily to the less than desirable mode. I will now endeavour to rectify its status forthwith. Sigh!

Oh the same company has seeming joined the increasing ranks of organisations where you click on the "Contact us" link merry-go-round which intentionally features a lot of Darwinisms - mainly the concept of 'survival of the fittest' . The "contact us" link then takes you to a page of "what topic would you like to discuss" section. This section then links to a plethora of previously prepared range of questions and answers. These are meant to solve all your problems. Then after you wade through all the quagmire of previously prepared drivel the 'Contact Us' link fails to provide the contact details of a human being. Oh yes - the 'make a complaint' button seems to be linking to the same process as the "Contact Us" button.
Now where is that thread on AULRO that is something about Old Grumpy people? I think I am getting closer to being able to meet the thread's entrance criteria. Sigh!

Lionel - as a LinkedIn Premium member, have you tried the Live Chat option?
Otherwise your best option to make contact with a real person is just to raise a support case.
