Sorryt about the format here, but you can download their original document file for here: http://www.omaroo.net/documents/AUSTRA-itin1.rtf

Hello Chris
I announced at our club meeting on monday nite about what u said on our website and I am trying to organise a day trip of sorts and also they are welcome to our next club meet. All of our members were keen to see them and talk about their adventures.
Gorden are you going to ask Kevin for the donation of the 60 k service or do you want me too?
If he is unable I can ask others that I can twist arms with (who owe me):)
I will contact Rob Robson who does a article in every Saturday West Aust paper on 4wd as he is always looking for new material
ABC radio would be good mabey Macca?
My only problem is I will be away on holidays myself as 15th sept to 1st oct so may perswade someone else to run the trip.
I was thinking drive to Lancelin on beach then to pinnacles.
Our next club meeting is on the 11th sept so dont know how this fits in with their schedule or how long they are in Perth for for the day trip which poss would have to be on weekend unless I can get a retiree to do it for me during the week.
Keep in touch
Brad:D
To all helping and welcoming them. Good onya! I admire the landy comraderie coming thru fellows its the best. :D
Personally would have loved to meet and have a chat with them. What they are doing is for starters amazing. How many people actually follow through with a life long ambition. :o Talk is cheap they are doing it in reality. That takes tons of guts fullstop. Whatever support they can get will be appreciated I think.
;) im South African, my mums French dads German, and all I can say is its actually easier looking for the good qualities in people. Dealing with lotsa people over the net in all countries buying stuff for landy, fishing, boating and whatever comes up makes you realise one thing. Common decent people are nice to meet and chat and deal with anywhere. Hanging a tag of "being from that country" is so wrong. Good and bad people are everywhere and being from a country definitely does not have anything to do with it.
I could say the same thing about Aussies what the one fellow is winging about. I was in the country two weeks (thats 8 years ago) and I got spat at and insulted by two blokes at a pub. And thats just hearing my afrikaans south african accent. "You f***** racist, what are you doing in our country ?, you messed up your country treating the blacks like that and now you are in our country" was the crap i copped. Now 8 years later I can at least laught about it. What a idiot. Probably will never get out of his small little twisted world anyway.
In spite of that I have made the best of friends in oz (and yes mostly with aussies ;) , at work, fishing and boating and in general not just expats from SA :p ) and its going good. My girlfriend is as Australian as you can get and it actually helped me understand a lot about the country I never did.
So yes mate **** happens in all countries and it was just a bad experience. I suggest you get over it and its a pity that it happened to you in France. Could have happened anywhere. The real France and the people out of the cities are the most warm welcoming open hearted people you could meet. And thats mostly the case in any country.
Cheers
I was supposed to meet them a couple of time in Dubai, but could`nt make it due to work commitments. One of my friends out here who is a LR nut invited them over to his Villa a couple of times for a few beers, he spoke highly of them, shame I never got to meet them and got to check out their truck.
Pass on Sharky`s (Gordon Smiths) regards to them.
As for anyone who slaggs off the French for the sake of it, you should get out more, I have probably spent about 3 months in France all up over the years and found them great people, even with the language barrier. The people in Paris are more of a pain in the @rse, but so are most people in big cities around the world.
The french would never spit at an Australian purposely if they did`nt deserve it, you were probably p1ssed and making an @rse of yourself. The English maybe, no love lost there on either side.
Hi there Brad :)Quote:

Lancelin sounds fantastic - and I'll let them know of your schedule tonight so they can plan to try and match it. Still to find out what day they actually arrive on - but it's very close to the 11th. I'll keep you posted here.
I'm sorry about the 60K service - it looks as though they won't need it until they reach the east coast now, so sorry about that. I'm trying to organise one in either Melb or Sydney. What they will need though is a postal address for the sponsors to start sending parts to. From there they'll have to be able to fit them, or have them fitted somewhere near there. Any ideas fellas?
That's why I love Land Rovers so much f_b :) The comeraderie even eclipses that which you find in the Jeep fraternity's.... and that's pretty good too.Quote:

I think that it's one of the "big" ones Mat... but it'd be interesting to know!Quote:
