Sorry to hear that C19 hasn't disappeared, My youngest Bruv (also a Paul) who had a heap of health issues prior to Xmas was on the mend, went to a CIG get together shook a lot of hands, was kissed by many others (not all blokes [smilebigeye]) & bugger me dead, now has C19. He didn't see any Mask Wearers so it seems it is still hanging around for the unprotected/protected/unwary..

Well another Christmas gone, just saw my son Kristopher and his girl friend off. It was really nice to see them. Glad the rain went away. Just made roast chicken / veggies and trifle. Kristopher like my trifle and said Christmas isn't Christmas with out trifle. No turkey they don't like it. It was only Mario that like turkey and we had to have it all the time along with a chicken. And tomorrow 26th is Kristopher 29th birthday. Gee I feel old, and my other son turn 28 on the 1st March next year, the same birthday as Mario's. Hope you had a great day and say safe. Heather

It was our first Christmas for 37 yrs with no kids or Grandkids,or for that matter anyone else.
We snuck off to the old fisherman’s shack down at Arrawarra,very relaxing and quiet.[biggrin]
Hopefully all the presents are safe at home,and the storms have not done any damage to our place.
Will be back in the next couple of days.
Des,yes Covid is everywhere here ATM.
Daikin Qld shut their branch early this year as they all caught Covid, at the annual Christmas party.
One of my sons SIL works in a Govt Department,they all caught Covid at their Christmas party as well.That will be the last Karaowke sing along they will ever have at a Christmas party.[bigrolf]
After the two years of lockdowns,seems not much has changed.
Oh,work after hours,hmm,no way,gave that up two years ago,certainly did my fair share over the decades.[biggrin]
Got back home after Christmas yesterday, with a couple of kids.
And found the lid of the chest freezer open. Everything is the top layer is a writeoff, but quite a lot still OK in the second layer - and the bottom six inches of the freezer is a solid block of ice (mixed with assorted frozen goods and insects - the open lid had the light shining, attracting them and the freezer is on the verandah); I am now trying to melt it.
Just returned from Canberra to discover a similar situation here but not antwhere near as disasterous as yours John.
Fridge door hadn't been closed properly but was still reasonably cool. A few items spoiled but most still OK and a pool of water on the floor.
You're lucky yours is a chest freezer and was still turned on, I imagine it probably drained your solar system a bit.
I hope the de-icing and recovery goes OK and you don't loose too much more tucker.

The bottom bit of the freezer next to the compressor was a solid block of ice where the melt from the top ran into the area that was still frozen. Took most of the day to thaw enough to lift that lot out, with the power off and a large boiler of hot water in it.
