Hi all.
After reading the posts in regard to the revised defender, one would have to think this is the beginning of a down hiil slide for the current icon .
Its a bit like VW all over again, the new ones are nothing like the old!, but you still see the old revamped models tootlling along.
Ford input was always going to change something, & with further speculation of landrover ownership you can bet your left nut that big changes will happen in the next five years.![]()

Well, actually the slide began a long time ago - probably when the 4BD1 was replaced by the 200Tdi. Or perhaps when coils replaced leaves. And the introduction of plastic dashboards MUST be in consideration as the start of the rot, as must the introduction of pendant pedals. Perhaps when the wheelbase was increased from 80 to 86".........

Now there is simplicity and a rugged design, with readily available spare parts (avalable from any nearby tree, as is the fuel). Is that what you hope to subtract your Disco down to Mahn?
Well the Cugnot's Locomotive was only one front wheel drive..so we all have our limitsOriginally Posted by scrambler

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
Whilst the tow capacity remains at 3500 kg I won't be trading in my 96 130 that tows 400 kg .... although a little less cabin noise would be nice
