What the hell did he drive, a bloody tank? MattOriginally Posted by Gascoigne
I usually drive the Fender to work and get a wave every now and again from other Landy's........but not always.
My wife drove it to work this morning........three waves in half an hour, which she was quite happy to tell me about with a big grin on her face.
Now, as far as looks go, she wins hands down, but I don't think I've got a head like a robber's dog.
So I'm putting it down to chance.....yep, that has to be it.
Anyway, on a brighter note, four weeks off as of next week and heading out to Alice, Uluru etc.....first time so almost can't wait.
Friend of a friend who just did the Leyland Brothers West-East 40th anniv crossing says the desert flowers just starting to come out - should be spectacular by the time we get out there. Wish I could have been on that trip...............
Mind you he used 4000litres of diesel - you work it out!!
Cheers

There is a miserable white bearded old Pratt here in the Armadale area of Perth ( I hope you read this ) and I have waved 4 times and he looks at me as if I'm a gay stalker. He drives a white defender like me but stock standard. But there is a 130 driver who always gives a wave and a smile in my area. The old fella I need to pull him out at a set of lights and force him into the drivers seat of the nearest Toy Pratto where he would be at home.![]()
What do you expect. Of course other Landy drivers are going to wave to a pretty lady driving another Fender. It would be most of their fantasie's.Originally Posted by Gascoigne

I was only thinking about waves today as we drove around town in the Fender.
We've found 9 times out of 10 another Fender driver will wave...unless its a woman... except me...I always wave
Disco and Rangie drivers almost never wave ( we now only wave to them if they wave first)
In the desert almost everyone waves
Numpty's Missus
It can be difficult understanding the waving policy of different drivers. In the NT a few years ago driving a Series III LWB, I was fairly sure that what was happening was that most people waved (or returned a wave) unless they were driving an NT registered vehicle or they were a woman.
Just as I became confident that I understood the pattern, I was waved at by a woman driving an NT vehicle.

1998 300 Tdi Defender Trayback 2006 - often fitted with a Trayon slide-on camper.
Since I've joined this website and been introduced to the sacred art of Landywaving I have waved at every Land Rover that I see going past. This week some of them waved back! Perhaps coincidence, perhaps I'm getting better at it? It's mostly Defender drivers who return the wave - so good onya Defender drivers, you, as they say, rawk!![]()
