Club rego VIC questions - D1 - any comments on Victorian Red Plate Club?

I have a '49 Dodge ute with the Red plate club. RPC is all above board , The ute is all original with exception of 4 wheel disc brakes , so its on M plates rather than H plates , its all too easy.

I'll be switching my '52 Power Wagon over to club plates too , its on full rego but I only drive it about once every 2 months. Its got disc brakes and power steering so I expect it'll be on M plates too.

Ive been pulled over twice in the ute now to check that ive filled in the log book. don't abuse the system.

I was amazed to see a Prado wearing club plates yesterday. When I got home I googled "land cruiser prado". Mid 90's ..... Incredible, those things are over 25 years old now. Next year, anything built in the year 2000 will be eligible for club permits.... :o

Incredible right? I'm not against this at all. Its just amazing how quickly time passes.

Yes. Pretty much anything I own will be eligible. Only the D2 isn't yet. But next year... Funny, the OKA is a light truck, but it qualifies as well. I think the Red Plate thing is one of the rare occasions where Victoria does it well.

I can vouch for this. I personally know the secretary and treasurer.

I know I recommended the RPC, and I don't resile from that, but a mate who is big in the classic car world ( ok, Holdens, but I suppose they can be classics of a sort [bigrolf]) told me about this mob. Cheaper, I believe. Just FYI.
