Uncle's post to http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=28472 was particulary useful.
I just read the nice article on the LandRover Game in the latest overlander magazine, and noticed that our very own UncleHo got a credit in there. Anybody else we know get a mention under their real name?
Well done UncleHo![]()

Is that you Rob the writer!
Matt has been talking about this article for ages, and sounded really excited about it.

The story behind it is thus:
When I picked up the (May?) Overlander it had the Game inside as the first-ever cover car. It just so happened I'd been sorting my photos the night before and remembered I'd found I a Game photo. So I sent it off to the editor. Got a reply back within a nanosecond along the lines of "I wish I'd known". Said why didn't you ask then :-)
So I tracked the owner down, who is a very friendly guy, and arranged to do a shoot. Also organised a yellow D90 to come along too, but after the initial contact the owner went overseas and his mate didn't contact me. So I got another yellow D90, the day before it was due to be sold. Then the original D90 turned up so I had two of them. We went out on the photoshoot with my 110 and another 110 so there was a convoy of 4 Defenders and 1 Game. That turned some heads as we went.
The Game is very likely to be at the Victorian 4WD Show next year. It's worth inspection.
And people on this board will be interested in next month's Overlander too ;-)
I'll post a photo of the three yellow shorties soon, make it into a wallpaper if anyone is interested.
I'm interested.Originally Posted by rmp

Scotty had this mag in my car the other day - I gave him grief for reading such Japanese drivel, only to find out it was FULL of LRs!!!
SO now we not only have 4WD Monthly with Defenders everywhere now Overlander too!!!
LRH
Disco 4 SDV6 Auto
Disco 4 SDV8 Dual Cab Project
Disco 2 M57 Extra Cab Project
Foton Tunland Cummins ISF
Disco 1 3 door 4.6 V8 Auto
RRC V8 Auto "Classic" Softdash
RRC 300 TDI Auto
Disco 1 TD5 Auto Buggy
Disco 1 300 Tdi Auto Ute
SAME Explorer 70HP 4x4 Tractor plus Nell Loader
Subaru GDA WRX
Triumph Bonneville SE
Yamaha TTR250
Well, two articles about Landrovers anyway. Three I suppose if you count the travel one. Don't forget the My 4WD which was a Jeep Wrangler this time!
Not talking about any mag specifically, though its interesting that there isn't much said when they're full of any other make, typically Toyotas and Nissans, but as soon as another make, like LandRover win an award or feature, then it becomes RoverLander, LandRover Monthly or LRxLR Australia and Toyssan should have won it because they are always so much better. Nothing else could possible shine.

Anyway, thats enough from me.
