I know you said that burner and pilot light have been cleaned and checked, but did this include the actual gas jet?

I've had a couple of these in domestic use and have gutted another couple for the stainless tanks inside.

A common problem when in use is small ant and ant detritus infiltration of the jets and burners. Dismantle, blow out and see how you go.

I used to periodically switch the gas completely off and use surface insecticide in the bottom space which helped stop this. Don't do this without turning the gas off at the external tap so it's completely out.

Another time it seemed the exhaust system was blocked and a plumber mate came round.

Can't remember which external part was taken off but we used a big mono leaftblower through the vent system and blew out a huge number of small ants and their nest that was established in the back of the cabinet.
