I was chopping wood in Brisbane the other day and I don't even have a fireplace, however it was a large tree root in my front lawn.
It's cool enough is Brisbane lately for me to wear Ugg boots at night. There were even a couple of nights in February suitable for Ugg boots due to rain, usually February is hot.
Maybe had the odd "colder" day in Sydney, but those colder days have been sooo humid, that moving feels more like swimming, and anything warm becomes wet due to body overheating...
Today is the equinox at 13h46 when the sun will be directly above the equator, the equilux which is equal amounts of day and darkness will be a few days later due to atmospheric refraction.
And at the equinox, the length of the day is changing most rapidly.
