I love water crossings, just something about it that gets the bloody pumping, i dont know if its the thrill of not knowing when the water will stop getting deep and start to get shallower as you climb out but i love it. Top pics fellas. Matt

I love it when I get to the other side without the engine running like a hairy goat...that bloody distributer is so sensitive.

I can't wait till I get myself a diesel Defender. I'm sick of having to worry about electrics. I want to fly through water like this:

Try this in my rangie and it will behave like its only got 10HP. I'm working on it though.

damn, awesome pics guys! A question for you tho. After a river crossing like that (deeper than the axels) do you do an oil change asap? What other 'servicing' does the Disco require after that kind of workout?

Get you self a Land Rover gen Dissy and with Lucas leads and champion spark plugs then the V8 will be alot better with water . Had a rangie set up like thids and it never had problems with water. WEll not compaired to other V8's anyway. The Landy Dissy's fit alot better and keep out the water and steam

BTW this is a camel getting a sinking

Hi Stooge, I normally do oil changes in everything after a weekend or trip of 4wding that has involved lots of deep water crossings, but Diff breathers can help to stop water being sucked in to your diff when it comes into contact with the cold water, oil seals are designed to keep oil in not water out. what eh
Nah mine has still got the same oil in the alxes as it had all way round aus. Checked it was still oil colour and not caffe cream colour
But as it is left it
But have higher than standard oil breathers, so that helps,

Went though a river crossing on the Savanha way that was 3' deep and flowing. Pick up the car and moved it sideways and the trailer was 90 degrees to the car when we got out the other side. Two Toyotas were waiting on the other side and saw us go though, and then stop and get out. And with the defnder of couse a load of water came out the door when we opened it (left the vents open again D'oh , and water pored in though them). They both look at us and said together f*** that, we will wait a couple of days for it to go down..
But as we were 350 k's along the track and 100 k's to the end i was not about to go back

Must admit it the wife was noit too keen , but i was saying to her don't worry done this loads of times. It will be alright.
    But inside going f***ing Hell
