Not me,or for that matter anyone else.

    ....
    It's illegal to install AC??

Note: electrical is all done by electrician.

We're just installing .. fitting units. House was down to bare skeleton, and bro wanted hidden(in wall) lines .. idiot! So to be sure, when I say installing AC units .. just hard fitting each end of the units to walls, running pipes, fitting pipes, mounting brackets .. stuff.
Electrical is being done by the electrician.

    definitely not.
not the elec nor the gas for them .. just fitting them up, connecting pipes, got a bottle of nitrogen for pressure. Got the adapters for the AC gauges to the ac pipes. each pipe tested separately for leaks. Nitrogen set to whatever pressure R32 value on the gauge. Fairly high, can't remember exactly now 40bar maybe .. gauge has wedge range for R32 .. we set it and wait for leaks. After that, hook up vac pump and vac test too.

There are 4 units, one we stuffed up the pipe 3/8 pipe whilst doing up the flare. pipe twisted and holed. but behind the wall. felt like the flare was leaking.

Also, and I didn't know this about split systems .. don't need to gas them(in effect) all the gas is contained withing. I dunno anything about them, so elec will do all that. Most of the gear is his anyhow.

I bought all that 'pretty useless' vac pump, and gauge set .. but at what I thought was a fairly reasonable price .. bought mainly for the D2a and checking the 3008 and it's AC. The 3008 needed some other work done first. But that AC gear got more use out of it than originally planned

The small split systems these days are very efficient and mostly have a soft start. You could just plug them into the nearest power point without needing a sparky. You see the start and running current is far less than plugging in a toaster ... or kettle ... or fan heater. Even the startup currents are quite small.
