Where have all the toadies gone, far far away.---I hope.

Cane toads are a fact of life where I live, if I open the door to go out on the back verandah at night, I have to do it slowly and give a swift kick to any toad just waiting to hop inside. However about four nights ago I went outside and there were no toads anywhere. I shined a spotlight on the back yard and where there are normally dozens of toads there was just grass. The same has happened every night since, except for last night when there was one lonely small one sitting on the grass. Yesterday my wife was moving some boxes on the verandah and a single toad was hiding there, which I believe is the one on the grass. If its still there tonight I'll get rid of it, and hope, just hope, the others don't come back.
