My stereo wasn't even connected up at home until last year when we had our son home after his bike accident - that means the stereo had sat gathering dust in the lounge room since 1993 when we moved back to Australia. Fireplace? My gawd, no. I had one in our house on Norfolk Island and I had it ripped out.
