When we get our Honda serviced at Southside in Brisneyland we get a Jazz. Not bad but I think they frogot to wind up the rubber band tight enough before they gave it to us last week. Those things are soooooo slooooow. The fee for the loaner has gone up from $20 to $35. It's almost like hiring a car from Avis. At least they have the option though.

Most good dealers will just pull one off the lot for you. Gold City LR in Kalgoorlie gave us a 130 for 4 days while work was done on ours. We were supposed to pay for fuel, but they did not worry about it. Top dealer, this one. Would buy a car off them any day.

I have never been to a land rover dealer for service so have never needed one, but i would have thought it was up to the individual dealership as to whether or not they supply courtesy cars. Matt

Well I went to the dealer yesterday, and got the usual disinterest(had to wait half an hour for the guy to turn up even though I had made an appointment), he had a squiz at the issues, and decided that they will need the Fender for a week, as the roof has to come off to fix the sealent where it joins the windscreen frame. But, no we dont supply courtesy cars, we can run you on the bus to the shops though.
Not much use when home is 200kms away with no means of transport to get there or back.He suggested I contact LR customer care assist, as the vehicle in a sense is off the road and the agreement is that they will supply a vehicle if your stranded. So will see how that goes, if it doesnt work out, I just wont be able to get it fixed before warranty expires, and therefore at my expense at a later date when someone I know is going to be heading that way, dont think I'll be going for the extended warranty.

I would have to say that sucks! Can't they put you into something they traded for a couple of days? I don't think they are trying very hard.

As the issue was raised and identified before your warranty runs out they should be obliged to fix it at your convenience, even after the warranty has run out.

Isn't it great to see the car dealers in constant competition with House sales people and lawyers who can be the biggest dikheads in society and have the least respect from us all... I have bought 2 new cars over the years otherwise i would'nt go near a dealership , I am willing to pay a little more for parts from a third party then add to the coffers of those "A" holes a stealer ships

Don't they realize that if you have bought a new car once you may do it again..from them if they behave civilised and have a little common sensicle compassion..

    to all car dealers

I saw a nissan patrol go from $5999 windscreen banner the other day on the way to work on the way home it was $7999 but had a 12 month warranty included..frigging sharks the lot of them..

Well, I spoke to LR today explaining I would be without the vehicle for 5days with no way of getting home and they replied that as it has not broken down even though the repairs are warranty issues they have no obligation to supply a vehicle, even though their customer care assist brochure says they will in the case of a BREAKDOWN due to a warrantable defect. So what to do? Do I find a dealer that will give me a vehicle to loan?Do I just get it fixed out of my own pocket, and get a courtesy car? This is ridiculous, I'm 200kms from the nearest dealer, what do you do if your 1000kms from one and have warranty issues, that dont cause you to stop?Any ideas, or who to get in touch with besides Customer Care. (an oxymoron)
