Thanks for your replies. Might try Ricks as I long on the southside of Brissie

    Just a couple more questions:

    Do I source the bits?

Can Ricks 4x4 do the 4.11 CW&P as well?

    Cheers

Speak to Rick, he will sort out all the bits and peices needed - Mal (Maxidrive) is just a few streets away from him and Rick knows Mal very well. Rick also fitted my maxi 4.11 CWP and CV's at the same time with the locker etc.....he does the lot and is very good. Tell him Mick from the Gold Coast Land Rover club sent you and he may do you a better deal.........or me the next time my car is in His no. is 5596 6662.

I don't stand to gain anything from a referal in case you are wondering, he's just bloody good.

Good luck and if you are on the Southside, you should drop by one of our club meetings soon as we have a few Brisbane members in the club.....we like to get out a lot and play.

    Aye, Mick

Yep, pretty sure Brothers install Maxi stuff as well, plus Glen is another genuine LR guy.....also knows his stuff and although I have not had any work done there, a few in our club have and are very happy.

Thanks so much for the advice Mick. I know it is an expensive exercise - are you able to give a ballpark figure to the cost?

And yes...once axle and CW&P upgrade has happened, I will be very keen to go and play.

    Cheers

Costwise, $1958 for the maxi drive kit (front or rear). Since yours is an 86 model, you can advoid upgrading the CV's which then set the cost through the roof. Later models have weaker CV's and need to be upgraded which can set you back another $1500 or so for the HD 110 items with flanges, etc..

4.11 CWP sets are about $1300 from LRA in Victoria or through Ricks. I think they're about the same or more, might find out as I'm considering 4.11's myself. let me know if you do ring him 86MUD and I can start saving

Thanks Trav, that is a relief on not having to upgrade the cv's...

Just waiting for the postie to deliver my next credit card bill, then I can see whether I can do it now, or wait another month.

It would be great to do it in stages, but there is no use taking diff out twice.

    I will keep you posted

    cheers
