Used to visit Aus Range Rover & Disco, but it has died.
Their new forum hasn't taken off.
Overlander & 4WD Monthly seem to be for Patrols & Cruisers
Outer Limits is still good.
So I'm down to 2. AULRO & Outer Limits.

Used to spend a fair amount of time on Overlander, but now less and less, I think too many of the threads get hijacked and full of extraneous, purile rubbish. Even the photography thread (which I generally enjoy) is slowing right down.Quote:

I still frequent Outer Limits, Overlander, this, Australia RR and Disco forum (don't post much these days) and 4WD monthly.
Overlander are full of soft cocks who think there Toyota/Nissans are the **** andf think a trip to Mt Mee SF is hard  , 4WD monthly is okay and less anti-LR as far as non-brand specific based forums go, Outer Limits is still okay although there hasn't been an interesting thread on there for weeks but I do visit here more often than the rest.
Plus ther GCLRO club was formed on this site so it shows that the activity of the members is a positive one.

I occasionally visit Overlander, but generally only post to defend landies. I've even given up winding them up, because most of them bite too quickly. Boring!
I visit disco3.co.uk a fair bit; and it's taught me a lot about my car.
They do don't they :D . Plus I find the blokes on there too anal about everything and the moderators are far too conservative. Still a good rwead and I sometimes post every now and then.Quote:

Hi Trav, it seems that everybody is giving a lot of those sites a miss these days.
Have a look at roughly how many posts they get a month.
So boredom must be getting at even the red-necked toy and missan owners.
Or may be it’s getting boring because you and jamo aren’t over there stirring things up.
Seriously, AULRO is now one of the few sites where there is still heaps of activity, on a daily basis.
As I posted earlier, I used to visit Yahoo’s campertrailer site but it’s so censored in favour of their but kissing mates that it has become a waste of time ( also the fact that they won’t let me post there helps ) and the numbers are down. I have also noticed an absents of a number of use-to-be regulars from that site so I’m not alone.
Jamo, thats a good D3 site in the UK. I too, have learnt a lot about the misses D3.
I noticed that d2au is just starting to talk a bit about D3s now.
rangerovers.net, although obviously for rangies, is still an interesting site to have a look around.
Cheers.
Well Tim,
I think that most of the sites that we don't bother with at the same frequency as we did is because most of the drivel and talk comes from the mouth of babes.
When you analyse most of the comments it is the junior member of the family who thinks that he know's it all and is ready to criticise anyone who has a vehicle different to Dad's.
The other annoying thing that never ceases to amaze me is the number of stupid/lamebrain questions that are asked; when they obviously they have not even bothered to do any research and fire off a query hoping that someone will provide them with an answer.
I gave up looking at Overlander, 4Wd Monthly, and less often Exploroz
Cheers Aston
Australian RR and Disco forum used to be a great forum but over the years it has dwindled to nothing. I think Outer Limits and this site have taken off in a big way and the old archaic format on ARR&D forum doesn't archive and you get sick of ansering the SAME BLOODY QUESTIONS all the time.
There was a run where everyone was an expert and if you had a differing opinion you would get shot down in flames :firedevil:
Trav
Just had a bit of a wander on Overlander, still boring and still full of soft cocks :lol2: :lol2: .
I find that threads tend to drift off-subject and descend into a wasteland of rubbish and drible, nothing has changed I see
